Challenge
Disconnected ecommerce and ERP
Orders placed online had to be manually re-keyed into NetSuite. Errors, duplicate entries, and delayed fulfilment were a daily occurrence.

Overview
The NES Group operates a portfolio of manufacturing and distribution brands serving both B2B buyers and direct consumers across North America. Their previous storefront was disconnected from NetSuite — every order required manual re-entry, inventory levels were always stale, and customer service teams worked across three different tools to answer a single question.
Mejix was engaged to replatform onto Shopify Plus and engineer a deep, bidirectional NetSuite integration that would turn ecommerce, ERP, and customer data into a single operational system rather than a stack of disconnected silos.
What this project delivered
A production-ready outcome built for The NES Group — designed for measurable impact across operations.
Challenges
Three structural problems were capping growth and inflating operating cost.
Challenge
Orders placed online had to be manually re-keyed into NetSuite. Errors, duplicate entries, and delayed fulfilment were a daily occurrence.
Challenge
Stock counts in Shopify lagged NetSuite by hours. Oversells, cancellations, and refund cycles were eroding margin and customer trust.
Challenge
B2B accounts, DTC shoppers, and service history lived in three different systems. Reps couldn't answer basic questions without switching tools.
Challenge
Every new SKU, brand, or sales channel added more manual work — making growth proportional to headcount instead of automation.
Approach
We treated this as one integrated platform problem, not two parallel projects. The Shopify Plus rebuild and the NetSuite integration were designed together, so every storefront capability mapped to a clean operational flow inside the ERP — and every ERP event was reflected in the customer experience in near real time.
That meant defining a single data contract for products, inventory, pricing, customers, and orders across both systems first, then building the storefront, middleware, and sync layer against that contract. The result is a platform where Shopify and NetSuite behave as one system rather than two tools held together with spreadsheets.
Solutions
A Shopify Plus storefront engineered around a custom NetSuite integration — automating the operational work that used to scale with order volume.

Orders, customers, inventory, pricing, and fulfilment events sync in near real time between Shopify Plus and NetSuite — eliminating manual order entry and stale stock data.
Wholesale accounts get gated pricing, custom catalogs, net terms, and quick reorder — running on the same Shopify Plus instance as the DTC experience.
Every order, support touch, and account event rolls up to one customer profile, visible to ops and service teams without leaving NetSuite.
Order routing, picking, invoicing, and shipment confirmation are triggered automatically from NetSuite based on Shopify Plus events.
Multiple brands run on one operational backbone — new brands launch in weeks, not quarters, without duplicating ops headcount.
Custom reporting surfaces real-time order, inventory, and revenue health across brands and channels — built directly on NetSuite data.
Technology
Enterprise commerce platform powering the multi-brand storefront, B2B catalogs, checkout, and customer accounts.
ERP system of record for products, inventory, pricing, customers, orders, and fulfilment.
Purpose-built TypeScript service handling the bidirectional Shopify ↔ NetSuite sync, queueing, retry logic, and event-driven workflows.
Custom B2B pricing, discount, and checkout logic implemented as Shopify Functions for maximum performance.
Cloud infrastructure for the middleware, event queues, observability, and the integration data store.
CI/CD pipelines for storefront, integration middleware, and Shopify Functions — enabling fast, safe iteration.
